Summer 2001 Bulletin
Come Paint, Party and Purchase for the Río Grande
Artists are invited to paint for the Río Grande along the river anywhere from the Orilla Verde Campsite to the Taos Junction Bridge, north of Pilar, on highway 570. The cocktail and preview party, featuring hand mixed margaritas from ace volunteers Karen and David Douglas and silent auction, will begin at 5 PM at the Bareiss Gallery located at 15 Route 150, toward the Taos Ski Valley, north of Taos proper. Live auction will commence at 6 PM with silent auction winner announcements to follow. Last year’s participants included: Paul Pascarella, Kristine McCallister, Ken Price, Jim Wagner, Carey Moore, Nora Anthony, Stephen Kilborn, Angie Coleman, Miguel Vigil, R.J. Pfammatter, Linda Fair, Conrad Cooper, Donna Gorski, Bob Cooley, Leigh Gusterson, Jack Smith, Brian Shields, Zoe Zimmerman, Pat Woodall, Gary Suazo, Pat Coffaro, Elven Harvey, Mike Vargas, Cork Lillick, Patricia Ford, Geraldine Tso, Dan Vigil, Ed Sandoval, Anita Bauer, Bren Price, Charles Lonsdale, Anita Hopkins, Alyce Frank, Jennifer Cavan, Katie Woodall, Don Ward, Kristin Bortles, Dorothy Lampl, and Ed Heffernan.We invite you to join us for this lively and artful day down at the Río Grande and in the beautiful space provided by the Bareiss Gallery for a summer party and gala auction. Amigos Bravos’ unique blend of world renowned art, social and economic justice, and high jinx will roll its way through a summer day and down through the Río Grande Gorge with ever greater momentum this year. Amigos Bravos’ Annual Paint-a-Thon and Gala Auction will be generously hosted by Phillip Bareiss and the Bareiss Gallery and will take place on July 14th, with a rain date of July 15th.
