Through its publications, Amigos Bravos strives to encourage public awareness of and engagement with the Río Grande, and to provide reliable and accessible information necessary for citizen advocacy.

Tune in to Radio Río, a monthly radio program dedicated to promoting awareness of river protection and water quality concerns, appears on the fourth Monday of every month on KRZA, 88.7 FM, 8:30-9:00 am.

Our 2006 LANL Discharge Report (4.8 MB pdf) discusses the historic and current toxic discharges from LANL, including a wide range of radionuclide, metal, and chemical pollutants. Three major toxins are of particular importance: hexavalent chromium in the regional drinking water aquifer; PCBs in soils on LANL property, in surrounding canyons and streams, and in fish tissue from samples taken in the Middle Río Grande watershed; and perchlorate detected in the regional aquifer. There are significant concerns regarding the terms and conditions of all three permits under which LANL has coverage and the report makes general and specific recommendations for addressing both on-going and historic toxic discharges at LANL.

Our Three Year Strategic Plan presents a streamlined statement on the priorities of the organization for the next three years. This document is the fruit of an Advisory Council retreat held in March 2003.

Our Quarterly Bulletin is distributed to over sixteen hundred fifty members and is a straight-forward, low-budget educational tool to inform Amigos Bravos' members and others about river issues, special events, and opportunities to participate in hands-on river restoration. For past issues of our Quarterly Bulletin, consult our Bulletin Archives.

The Annual Report 2006 offers a comprehensive look at the activities of the organization in fiscal year 2005. It includes a letter from our Board President & Executive Director, a look at the year in review, an account of accomplishments in our three programs, a financial report, biographical sketches of the Board of Directors and staff, as well as photographs and poetry.
